There is a breed of dog for every person and lifestyle. If your home is a small apartment, it is not a good idea to adopt a breed that requires a great deal of time and space outdoors. Here are some dog breeds that are perfect for apartment living.

Boston terrier

Nicknamed the American Gentleman , the Boston terrier is a friendly little dog that is ideal for apartment living. It is quiet, it does not usually bother the neighbors and it is very affectionate with its owners, showing affection and loyalty at all times. It requires only moderate amounts of exercise and you don’t need a large yard at home.

English bulldog

The English bulldog breed is perfect for apartment living. They are loyal and lovable pets and super lazy. They love to laze on the couch with their owner in an apartment or study watching television. They require a minimal amount of grooming or exercise and are very calm. Almost infinitely patient, they are very good company for children. Their only negative side is that they are prone to respiratory problems and do not tolerate heat well, so if you want to have this little one at home, it is best to invest in an air conditioner.

French bulldog

The French bulldog have almost the same characteristics as the English bulldog, that is, it is calm, patient, loyal and loves to relax with its owner. They are similar in appearance to Boston terriers. They may not be as lazy as their English cousins, but they make up for it with their small size and light weight.

Chihuahua

Greyhound

Great dane

The first thought is that a Great Dane may seem like the last breed of dog you would choose to live in a small apartment, but appearances can be deceiving. These huge dogs are actually quite calm. Like English Bulldogs, they like to laze around all day, and will likely spend most of their time curled up on a couch. Just by its size you will notice that it is there. They are very docile and can be trained to avoid any type of misbehavior that may arise.

Pug

The pug breed is popular with dogs that are suitable for apartment living. They are very affectionate pets and want to always be by their owner’s side. They have energy and like to go for a walk, but they also love to take a nap. The breed requires a bit of maintenance, especially in the care of its hair. The downside is they often have respiratory problems, especially when it’s very hot, so air conditioning is a must during the warmer months. In addition, you will have to get used to their snoring.

Yorkshire terrier

The popular Yorkshire terrier is a small breed and an ideal apartment living companion. They can share the space even in the smallest of studios. Adaptable and friendly, he loves to be with people. They are smart and easy to train. Maintaining your hair usually takes some time.
